Community Solar

If your community has a solar agreement with us, and there are available shares, you can participate!

You can purchase any whole number of shares equal to 150 kWh/month of solar energy. (1 Share = 150 kWh, 2 Shares = 300 kWh, 3 Shares =450 kWh, etc.) Although you may purchase any number totaling up to 100% of your annual energy usage, we do reserve the right to limit everyone to less than 100% in order to allow more customers to participate in the program. The number of shares available for purchase depends on the size of the specific community’s solar generation project.

Enrollment Fee: There is a $50 enrollment fee for you to participate, but this is refunded if you participate in the program for three (3) consecutive years.

Solar Energy Charge: The charge for each kWh depends upon the amount listed in your community’s solar service agreement. (Example: You purchase 2 Shares, or 300 kWh. Your community’s agreement states the per kWh rate is 6¢,so your monthly charge would be $18.00, or 300 x 6¢.)

Base Energy Credit: This credit represents the annual cost of non-solar generation included in our standard rate schedules, and is applied to your account monthly. (Example: The Base Energy Credit is 5.8¢per month, so your credit would be $17.40, or 300 x 5.8¢.)

Rates shown above represent cost per kilowatt hour only and does not include other applicable fees. See Rate Plans for details regarding additional fees.
